We decided to lay a few ground rules when this list started. Please take the time to read these, and please follow them. If you don't, you run the risk of being thwapped.

  • This list is intended for writers of all flavors: poetry, fiction, non-fiction, etc. Writers of all genres are welcome, and of all flavors... we welcome anyone and everyone!

  • The purpose of this list is to get input from other writers on your own writing, to offer and recieve inspiration to help with writer's block, and to share and learn more about writing as both a functional part of life and a means of expression.

  • When posting personal work to the list, please keep it short. Poems should be no longer than 30 lines, and short fiction should be no longer than three pages. If you have longer submissions, please provide a URL. If you don't have webspace, send your submission to Steven and he will post it here for you.

  • Feel free to submit your work for critique, and please, when someone posts their own work, give a few comments to help them out.

  • When giving a critique of a work submitted, please remember to provide constructive criticism. This means cite the things you see as good and bad - not just thegood or just the bad - as well as helpful suggestions.

  • When receiving criticism, remember that it is someone's opinion, and they are entitled to their opinion. You can choose to take advice or ignore it. Don't take it personally. We don't want flame wars.

  • BE POLITE. As mentioned, we don't want flame wars here.

  • Tell your writer friends! This isn't just for goths. We just run the place. We'd like to see this grow.

  • Updates, links to work submitted, etc., can be viewed on the writers@sfgoth.com home page.
Happy writing!
