Q: Where does the information in the primer come from?
   A:

All of the topics in the primer started as personal conversations, mailing list discussions, or correspondence with other goths. Since then, visitors to the site have E-mailed comments, and the site has been modified and expanded over its six year existence. It is not a scholarly work and should not be treated as such.

Q: How often is the primer updated?
A: About twice a year. The last update was 14 April 2003.
Q: I am writing a research paper about goths. Can I cite the primer?
A: Feel free to quote, cite, and plagarize the primer - on another web site. There are three reasons why internet resources are not considered acceptable in scholarly research:
  1. Validity: There is no verification or peer review, no way of ensuring that the content is accurate. Basically, anyone can write anything.
  2. Transience: the author can change the content after you've written your paper.
  3. Impermanence: The site may go down permanently and your readers would have no way of verifying your sources.
