Nicotine Fix

I take the last burning inhale of the cigarette
deep into my lungs,
hold it there,
let it out
slowly.
I want you this way,
Deep inside my lungs,
Deep inside my body,
Deep inside my soul.
Like the burning smoke,
you hurt me,
and you heal me.
Like the cigarette,
I want you
even though it's wrong.
And I become addicted to you,
burning sex nicotine fix.
I take you in
and then exhale you,
used,
my second hand smoke.
And you make my head spin,
my hands tremble,
my skin warm,
my heart pound.
And even though it makes me sick,
I want more,
need more.
I burn you
and use you,
Always wanting more,
needing more.
Your sweet smokey taste
stuck to the roof of my mouth,
stuck to my tongue.
A taste I'll never get rid of
no matter how I try.
Forever,
with trembling hands,
reaching for the next
cigarette.
